Mr. Ostick will serve in Tijuana for the next three years, with jurisdiction over the Baja California Peninsula.

Will Ostick is a career Foreign Service officer at the U.S. Department of State.  Prior to his current assignment as U.S. Consul General in Tijuana, he served as Director for the Office of Brazilian and Southern Cone Affairs for the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.  He previously served as spokesperson and press advisor for the bureau. 

In June 2011 he graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) with a master’s degree in national resource strategy. From 2007 to 2010, he served as information officer at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid.  Previously, he served as public affairs officer and information officer in Panama.

Other Foreign Service assignments include country desk officer for Argentina; desk officer for public diplomacy for Brazil and the Southern Cone; public affairs officer in Niamey, Niger; cultural affairs officer in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and, assistant information officer in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He joined the U.S. Information Agency in 1989, which merged with the State Department in 1999.

He graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens with a BA in journalism and holds a master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.   He speaks Spanish and French.

Mr. Ostick is married to Catherine T. Ostick, and they have two daughters.
