Humpback whale arrives to Los Cabos

Like every year this winter season the humpback whales began to arrive to the area of Los Cabos,.

The Official regulation number 131 establishes rules for the whale watching.

The problem is that the harassment is constant and there is no sufficient surveillance due to the extension of the zone

The season just began and the number of boats between private and tourists exceeds one hundred daily and many of them navegate over speed allowed which is very risky not only for other vessels but to the whales.

Braulio Cota, SubCommander of harbourmaster of the port of Cabo San Lucas: “are informed that during whale season, which is from December 15 to April 15, behave in a displacement not exceeding 15 knots (30 km per hour, more less).

Among other regulations whale watching vessels for visitors or residents must have the flag of permission, certificate security, life jackets, flares and VHF radio.

What is a fact is that visitors always enjoy this natural show.

It is expected to increase the number of humpback whales this season ending in the second week of April of this new year.
