It is still expected that the federal government can support tourism promotion with more resources: Luis H. Araiza, Secretary of Tourism of BCS

Luis Araiza CNT

Despite the fact that during the inauguration of the Acapulco Tianguis the President of the National Association of Hotel Chains, Luis Barrios directly requested the support of at least 125 million dollars per year as seed for the tourist promotion of the country, when the Mexico Tourist Promotion Council (CPTM) was canceled, both President López Obrador and Tourism Secretary Torruco stressed that support is already being given through special resources to improve infrastructure in marginal areas in the main tourist destinations, in addition to the special dedicated emphasis in reinforcing security but without compromising any resources from promotion that will have to be in charged now by private initiative at each destination.

Notwithstanding the above, the state representative of tourism in Baja California Sur, still does not lose hope that plans change and resources are allocated to such an important promotional task.
