Lorenzo Musetti leads a high-level 2025 Los Cabos Open

Abierto de Los Cabos 2025

The Italian will arrive as the top seed at the Baja California Sur ATP 250; Rublev, Davidovich, and Thompson complete a prestigious field.

Los Cabos, BCS – The 2025 Los Cabos Open is shaping up to be one of the most competitive editions in its history. With Lorenzo Musetti as the main attraction, the tournament, which will be held from July 14 to 19 at the Cabo Sports Complex, will bring together several world tennis figures, consolidating its position as one of the most important events on the ATP calendar in Latin America.

The Italian, currently world number 7, is enjoying his best professional season: a finalist in Monte Carlo, a semifinalist in Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros, and reaching the round of 16 in Miami. In his debut in Los Cabos, he will be the top seed and the top favorite to lift the trophy.

But Musetti won’t be alone. The official list of participants published by the tournament includes other notable names such as Russian Andrey Rublev (ranked 14th), Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (28th), Canadian Denis Shapovalov (31st), American Brandon Nakashima (32nd), and Australian Jordan Thompson (37th), who will seek to defend his title in both singles and doubles.

High-profile debutants and expected returns

This will be Musetti’s first appearance at the South Californian tournament, although he already has a Mexican fan base following his performance in Acapulco in 2021. The same goes for Rublev, who last played in Mexico at the 2018 AMT.

Another notable debutant will be Davidovich Fokina, who made a strong impression on the national public by reaching the final of the Mexican Open in Acapulco, and will look to repeat that connection this time in the Baja California Sur desert.

On the other hand, the main draw will also include some familiar faces from the tournament. Notable among these is Britain’s Cameron Norrie (61st), the 2021 champion, and the aforementioned Jordan Thompson, who made history in 2024 by winning both titles.
