The 2025 World Wide Technology Championship is presented in Los Cabos

The press conference for the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship was held at the Diamante Hotel. This PGA Tour tournament will be held for the third time in Mexico, from November 3 to 9, at the Diamante resort’s El Cardonal course.
The event brought together sponsors, media, and guests, who were welcomed at 12:30 p.m. and enjoyed a meal before the official start of the conference, hosted by Joe Mazzeo, tournament director.
A tournament with sporting and social impact
Mazzeo announced that this year’s tournament will feature 120 players, including international figures such as Tony Finau, Luke Donald, and JJ Spaun, as well as Mexican golfers led by Emilio González. He also emphasized the social significance of the championship by announcing that $3.8 million will be donated to charitable causes with the support of 630 volunteers.
“There will be $112 million in prizes and an expected economic impact of close to $25 million, in addition to the qualification of Mexican players,” he stated in an interview with Al Cabo Noticias.
Los Cabos, a global showcase
At the main table were Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust; Ken Jowdy, CEO of Diamante Los Cabos; Austin Eckroat, defending champion; and Cari Wilber, vice president of marketing for World Wide Technology.
Rodrigo Esponda highlighted the tournament’s importance to the destination:
- 150,000 visitors arrive each year, attracted by this event.
- The championship covers 220 countries.
- Visitors spend an average of $40,000 pesos.
- The satisfaction rate of those who come to Los Cabos is 96%.
Promotion and Community
The speakers agreed that the championship not only boosts Los Cabos’ international presence, but also strengthens its relationship with the local community by recruiting volunteers, generating economic benefits, and promoting the destination as a host of world-class sporting events.
The media Q&A session took place at 2:30 p.m., and the event concluded at 3:00 p.m., marking the official start of an edition that promises to attract global attention to Los Cabos and consolidate its position as one of the leading golf destinations in Mexico and around the world
