$2,440,850 for “Magic Touch” at the 2025 Bisbee’s Black & Blue, the Grand Blue Marlin Event in Los Cabos

In a vibrant close to the 2025 edition of the Bisbee’s Black & Blue tournament, the winners who stole the spotlight in the blue marlin hunt off Cabo San Lucas were officially announced. Here are the top standings:
Place Team / Boat Fisherman Species Weight
1st Magic Touch Ronald Weisfeld Blue Marlin 459 lb
2nd Team Rising Sons / Magnifico Jaselyn Berthelot Blue
Marlin 457 lb
3rd Another Line Rubén González Blue Marlin 389 lb
4th Magic Touch Harry Esterley Blue Marlin 344 lb
Team Magic Touch, with Ronald Weisfeld at the helm, managed to win by just two pounds over Team Rising Sons / Magnifico, highlighting the intensity of the competition. In fact, the tournament’s official website notes that the top three teams “earned well over $1 million in prize money” in this edition.
The contest, considered by organizers to be “the Super Bowl of fishing” in Cabo, offered a record prize pool. Its participants faced wind, changing seas, and the demands that characterize an event of this magnitude.
It’s worth noting that the presence of multiple boats with weight marks and the inclusion of meters/inches demonstrates how aestheticized measurement has become alongside performance: from the 104 in × 60 in of second place to the 98 in × 54 in of fourth place.
In his post-competition remarks, Weisfeld shared that from the dawn of the final day, they knew that “this extra pound” could make the difference, and it did. Sport fishing once again reaffirms its character as a spectacle, business, and passion.
With these results, the 2025 edition is marked by the narrow margin between gold and silver, the strength of the competitors, and the atmosphere that makes Los Cabos—through Bisbee’s Black & Blue—a must-see for the blue marlin fishing elite.
