Empire of the Sun Announces Chrysalis, Their First Curado Festival in Los Cabos

Chrysalis

The Australian duo Empire of the Sun, comprised of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore, responsible for global hits like “Walking On A Dream” and “Alive,” announced this week the launch of Chrysalis, a new three-day music festival that they will curate themselves. This will be their first experience hosting an event of this kind. The announcement, made on November 17, has generated great excitement among their fans, as it promises to combine electronic music with a total immersion in the visual and conceptual universe that characterizes the band.

Chrysalis will take place from May 14 to 16, 2026, in the Iskali Gardens of the Hotel El Ganzo in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur. The venue, surrounded by sculptures, mango groves, and coastal landscapes, perfectly complements Empire of the Sun’s surreal aesthetic. The festival will feature three unique and exclusive performances by the duo each night, in addition to a selection of international artists yet to be announced. Production is being handled by 100x Hospitality, a company specializing in artist-led experiences.

Luke Steele explained that the concept revolves around a “circle of symbols” related to transformation and rebirth: the door as a threshold, the egg as origin, the key as revelation, the wings as the future, and the bell as awakening. According to the musician, Chrysalis aims to be a journey of imagination and rebirth amidst a world of distortions, with open-air stages, immersive art installations, and hidden activations scattered throughout the venue.

Tickets and accommodation packages are now available at the official website, chrysalisfestival.com, and include options ranging from general admission passes to VIP experiences with exclusive dinners hosted by Steele and special sessions. The organizers emphasize that the event will not only be a music festival, but a complete getaway that takes advantage of the natural beauty and relaxed luxury of Los Cabos, solidifying the destination as a favorite for international electronic music events.
