The 15th Municipal Government of Los Cabos, headed by Mayor Christian Agúndez, through the Municipal Tourism Office, is ready to participate in the 2026 International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which will take place from January 21 to 25 in Madrid, Spain, one of the most important tourism events worldwide.

In this regard, the Municipal Director of Tourism, Ana Gabriela Navarro, emphasized that FITUR brings together tourist destinations from around the world and represents a strategic platform for international promotion. This year, Los Cabos will have two separate booths, which will strengthen the destination’s presence and allow for a comprehensive showcase of its tourism offerings in a high-impact setting.

She also highlighted that this year Mexico is the guest partner country at the fair, which places the country in the international spotlight and makes the municipality’s participation even more significant. “This is a great opportunity for Los Cabos to position itself and take advantage of the fact that the eyes of the world will be on Mexico,” she stated.

During FITUR 2026, Los Cabos will promote not only its renowned beaches and tourist experiences, but also its rich cultural, gastronomic, and artisanal heritage. In this regard, producers from the northern part of the municipality will participate, representing regional cuisine, along with pieces crafted by local artisans, highlighting the identity and cultural diversity of Baja California Sur.

The Director of Tourism pointed out that international promotion translates into direct benefits for the municipality, such as increased economic activity, a rise in tourist arrivals, and a strengthened position for Los Cabos as a world-class destination.

Finally, Ana Gabriela Navarro acknowledged the vision and drive of Mayor Christian Agúndez Gómez, who will also attend this important event and promoted the establishment of an institutional booth for the Los Cabos City Council. He highlighted that a work agenda is in place, including one-on-one meetings with international business leaders, media representatives, and authorities from other countries.

Among these activities is a preliminary protocol meeting for a possible sister city relationship with Málaga, Spain, whose mayor has expressed interest in establishing collaborative ties with Los Cabos. This represents a source of pride and an opportunity to strengthen international relations for the benefit of the municipality and its residents.
