Easter in Los Cabos

This Easter Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, is at 80% hotel occupancy in the 18,500 rooms of its 80 hotels.

Lilzi Orcí, executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association: “… this week we began to receive more tourist influx… all this weekend we hope to have more than 80% occupancy in the destination”

With a mild climate and clear days, national and foreign tourists as well as residents enjoy the beaches, golf and water activities such as diving and the extreme sport of surfing.

Michelle McAff, tourist from Arizona: “I love it, it’s amazing, I will come here whenever I go on vacation, the food is amazing everywhere, no matter where you go, the food is amazing”

Lilzi Orcí, executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association: “13% of the tourists who come to Los Cabos come looking for gastronomy,….we have different activities, for example water sports or horseback riding on the beach, camels… many tourists come looking for sport fishing and golf…”

Tim McAff, Colorado tourist: “We did the whale watching, I know it’s a little late in the season but we managed to see one, we saw the arch…”

The hotel sector expects that as the weekend approaches the number of reservations will increase.

Lilzi Orcí, president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association: “We have 52% that comes from the United States, we have about 36% of the national market and now the Canadian market, which has been recovering, is coming into play…”

Ashley White Las Vegas: “Horseback riding, ATVs, lots of fun stuff and all the adventures….Come to Cabo, you will always have a good time, you won’t regret it”

Tourist cruise ships have also increased their arrivals in Cabo San Lucas.

Lilzi Orcí, president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association: “…each cruise ship arrives with around 3,000 passengers plus the crew and those passengers may be coming to Los Cabos for the first time, they arrive, do some activity, fall in love and come back…”

This Thursday the arrival of nationals from cities such as Mexico, Guadalajara and Monterrey is expected to increase.
