Under the theme “Letters from the Sea and Desert,” the 2025 Los Cabos International Book Fair (FILLC) will be held from October 1st to 5th. This event is organized by the Institute of Culture and the Arts (ICA) of the 15th City Council of Los Cabos. The event seeks to promote reading and consolidate the municipality as a space where literature and the arts meet.

The opening will be this Wednesday, October 1st, in Plaza Antonio Mijares in San José del Cabo, with a poetry reading in the indigenous Innu and Ñuu Savi languages, in addition to a musical performance by the group Los Hijos de Lola.

The program offers a wide variety of free activities for the whole family: writing workshops, storytelling, readings at the lectern, literary presentations, concerts, and the highly anticipated Poetry Jam, an open microphone event that brings together writers, poets, and musicians from the region.

Among the highlights is the presentation of the book “Alicia Nunca Miente” by Jorge F. Hernández in Cabo San Lucas, as well as talks, discussions, and panel discussions.

ICA Director Tania Covarrubias invited the entire community to participate: “We have a pending appointment. This fair is designed for both book lovers and those who have yet to discover the world of reading. We want everyone to be excluded from this cultural experience.”

The closing ceremony will be on Sunday, October 5th, on the Cerrito del Timbre esplanade in Cabo San Lucas, with a book exhibition, workshops, book presentations, and the artistic performance by Dolores Canta, which promises to round off a week dedicated to culture and literature with a flourish.
