The Los Cabos International Film Festival (FICLosCabos) announces its 13th edition, which will take place from December 10th to 14th, 2025, reaffirming cinema as its guiding principle and expanding its reach to the disciplines that define contemporary culture. The Festival will merge cinema with music, digital art, gastronomy, and immersive experiences, consolidating Puerto Los Cabos as a global creative ecosystem.

Since its founding, the Los Cabos International Film Festival (FICC) has had the invaluable support of Cinemex as a strategic ally. Together, we have built more than a decade of collaboration that has allowed the Festival to consolidate itself as an international benchmark for independent cinema, cultural dialogue, and the attraction of global talent.

In 2025, inspired by the extraordinary intersection of desert and sea that characterizes Puerto Los Cabos, the Festival reaffirms its role as a stage where nature and creativity intertwine in harmony.

Under the #BeyondTheScreen concept, the Festival reaffirms its vocation as a space where cinema transcends the screen. Audiences will experience narratives that expand in dialogue with the Sea of ​​Cortez—recognized by UNESCO as a Natural World Heritage Site—the desert, and the community, showcasing the power of the creative industries in the digital age.

Boosting the Industry: La Baja Inspira & the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund

Through the strategic alliance with the Escuela Superior de Cine (ESCINE), a leading institution in audiovisual training in Mexico, the selection, evaluation, and support processes for the programs promoted by the Festival are supported by academic and professional support that boosts the international exposure of the winning projects.

In 2025, FICLosCabos strengthens its commitment to the film industry through three strategic programs:

• La Baja Inspira: A competitive section dedicated to stories with a direct link to Baja California Sur. With more than 1,600 projects registered, ESCINE will select five finalists, amplifying regional voices on an international stage. The finalists will be announced on the Festival’s official website on October 31.
• Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund: Created in 2012 in honor of the legendary Mexican cinematographer, it enters a new phase as the Festival’s strategic arm for projects in post-production. In partnership with ESCINE, it provides mentoring, credibility, and direct connections with producers, distributors, investors, and international festivals.

◦ Selection: Up to five fiction or documentary feature films (first or second films).

◦ Industry meetings in Mexico City: November 24-26, 2025 (with partners and sponsors).

◦ One-on-one meetings and official awards ceremony: December 10-14, 2025, within the framework of the Los Cabos International Film Festival.

• Animation: For the first time, the Festival integrates animation into its official programming. Curated by ESCINE, this section will present short and medium-length films, masterclasses, and announce the 2026 Official Animation Call, consolidating Puerto Los Cabos as a platform for emerging talent in this expanding discipline.
