The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) was recently honored with a special recognition from the private sector, represented by the Los Cabos Coordinating Council (CCC) and the Los Cabos Hotel Association (AHLC), with the support of the main organizations in the local tourism sector. This award highlights its crucial role in promoting and positioning this beloved tourist destination.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at an event celebrating Fiturca’s nearly 30 years of continuous work. Special emphasis was placed on the achievements of the last nine years, including strengthening air connectivity, increasing hotel occupancy, and consolidating Los Cabos’ image as a competitive tourist destination both in Mexico and internationally.

Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, director of Fiturca, received the award with great emotion, thanking his team and collaborators. “This honor underscores the strategic value of the Trust and its promotional model for keeping Los Cabos in the global spotlight,” Esponda stated. He also emphasized that the destination’s success is the result of a collective effort by the community, workers, authorities, business owners, and all those involved in the tourism industry.

Julio Castillo, of the Los Cabos Coordinating Council, respectfully called for increased institutional and budgetary support for Fiturca, noting that the current budget is not competitive compared to other similar destinations. “Every peso invested in tourism promotion returns multiplied in income for workers and opportunities for families,” he emphasized.

Castillo also reiterated the importance of nurturing tourism promotion as a fundamental strategy for maintaining employment, investment, and the future growth of the destination. Continued collaboration among all sectors is essential to attract visitors who appreciate the natural and cultural wonders of Los Cabos and contribute to its economic development.

“Our best promoter is the satisfied visitor who returns and shares their experience,” Esponda concluded, reaffirming his commitment to continue working alongside all stakeholders to solidify Los Cabos as a premier tourist destination.

It is worth noting that Fiturca has also received recognition outside of Mexico. During Virtuoso Travel Week, it was named the world’s best destination management office for the third consecutive year, further establishing Los Cabos as a tourist destination with international reach.
