“Unity that Resists, Love that Liberates”: Call to Action for the 21st Historic LGBTQ+ Pride March in Los Cabos

Codisex Los Cabos A.C. officially announced the 21st Historic LGBTQ+ Pride March in Los Cabos, which will take place this year on June 20th under the slogan “Unity that Resists, Love that Liberates.” The event seeks to bring together members of the LGBTQ+ community, allies, collectives, and social organizations for a day of visibility, community participation, and the promotion of the human rights of sexual and gender minorities.   This edition takes on special significance as it coincides with the spirit of WorldPride 2026, whose global call, “Unity: None of us are free until all of us are free,” resonates powerfully and relevantly in the fight for equality. Furthermore, the 25th anniversary of the legalization of same-sex marriage in the Netherlands is being commemorated, a historic milestone that paved the way for subsequent victories in various countries. Raúl Pérez, president of Codisex Los Cabos A.C., emphasized that “the unity we are calling for today is not an empty slogan; it is a collective strategy against hatred, structural violence, and any attempt to deny our existence and rights.” For the organization, this march is both a celebration of progress and an urgent reminder that rights are not permanently guaranteed without daily, active defense. The 21st March will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Lázaro Cárdenas Street, next to the Cultural Pavilion of the Republic, proceed along Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard in an out-and-back loop, and conclude at Amelia Wilkes Plaza with a completely free arts festival. Los Cabos Celebrates Pride with Art, Gastronomy, and Inclusive Experiences Throughout June, the tourist destination will offer a diverse program to celebrate inclusion, creativity, and community connection, positioning itself as one of the leading LGBTQ+ hospitality destinations in Mexico. Bar Ligaya joins the celebration with a special program throughout the week, highlighting its participation in the Pride March on June 20th and offering safe transportation in partnership with Cactus Tours to continue the celebration in San José del Cabo. That same evening, Mia Star, known for her participation in RuPaul’s Drag Race, will perform, accompanied by live shows, tribute acts, and a curated lineup of queer DJs from Mexico. As a nighttime alternative, “Pálpito: Pride Celebration” will arrive at Crania with a musical offering that brings together national and international talent to celebrate identity and self-expression. In the culinary realm, a highlight is the collaboration at Don Sánchez, where chefs Edgar Román and Elena Sors will offer a menu inspired by The Origin of Love, complemented by a visual art installation by Sebastián Zura and a photography space in collaboration with The Main Event Cabo. The celebration continues on June 26 with the Pride Moon Zipping experience at Wild Canyon Adventures, reaffirming Los Cabos' commitment to providing authentic and memorable experiences for the LGBTQ+ community. Gabriel Cardona, head of special segments at the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, noted that 14 partner companies in the tourism sector are joining this year to strengthen the destination's inclusive offerings. These include Don Sánchez, Gourmet 911, The Main Event Cabo, Hospiten Cabo San Lucas, Bar Ligaya, Cactus Tours, Del Cabo Events, Wild Canyon Adventures, Paradero Todos Santos, Los Cabos Golf Resort, Breathless Cabo San Lucas, and Mango Deck. These partnerships reflect Los Cabos' commitment to fostering an environment where diversity is authentically celebrated, solidifying its position as one of the world's leading inclusive hospitality destinations.
