Los Cabos Tennis Open Celebrates 10th Anniversary and Gifts Mazda SUV to Lucky Fan
The Los Cabos Tennis Open—also known as the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo—successfully celebrated its tenth anniversary from July 25 to August 1, 2026, at the Cabo Sports Complex, cementing its status as one of Latin America’s premier sporting events.
During this commemorative edition, which brought together top ATP Tour players—including defending champion Denis Shapovalov, Jiri Lehecka, Luciano Darderi, Francisco Cerúndolo, Karen Khachanov, and Cameron Norrie, among others—organizers from Mextenis prepared various surprises for the audience. One of the most exciting highlights was the raffle of a Mazda SUV, awarded to a lucky tournament attendee as part of the celebrations marking the event’s first decade.
The winner, whose name was withheld for privacy reasons, received the vehicle’s keys during a special ceremony held alongside the main event, in the presence of representatives from official sponsor Mazda and tournament executives. The presentation became one of the week’s most talked-about moments, generating great excitement among the thousands of fans attending the sports complex.
“The overall outcome is extremely positive; we experienced an extraordinary week. Looking back at this first decade, the results are highly encouraging, reflecting the constant evolution of each of our operational pillars,” stated Geoffrey Fernández while presenting the results of the tournament, which took place from July 27 to August 1.
The Los Cabos Tennis Open has seen remarkable growth since its inaugural edition in 2016: attendance rose from just over 12,000 people to a projected figure exceeding 35,000 in 2025, while the economic impact increased significantly. In addition to the hard-court competition, the tournament featured family activities, live music, sponsor-led interactive events, and a closing show. “In the coming days, we will announce the economic impact and total attendance figures, but the initial indications are positive. Our takeaway is that great things are achieved through teamwork,” the executive emphasized while assessing the event’s performance.
With this celebration, the ATP 250 tournament reaffirmed its role as a driver of sports tourism in Los Cabos and a platform for the development of tennis in Mexico, leaving behind a festive atmosphere and a spirit of generosity that attendees will long remember.
