Port services

The Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability, Luis Humberto Araiza López, led the meeting of the Integral Port Administration Council (API), where the results achieved in this matter during the first six months of the current year were announced.

Among the advances presented by the head of API, José López Soto, stand out the improvement of infrastructure in the ports of La Paz, Loreto and Santa Rosalía, which has resulted in the strengthening of the quality of port services.

Araiza López pointed out that these works are of great relevance in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, since, due to the entity’s island conditions, the optimal functioning of the seaports has been essential for the development of trade and the tourist industry be sustained, because through API, Baja California Sur served as a humanitarian bridge at the beginning of the health crisis, so that cruise lines will disembark the crew and their passengers, contributing to their return without any risk.
