The director of the Fund for the protection of Marine Resources (FONMAR), Luis Antonio García Rodríguez, informed the entity’s sport fishing service providers, which is already published on the official website of the State Commission for the Protection against Risks Sanitary (COEPRIS), the protocol that must be followed for the reactivation of that activity as of this Monday, June 15.
The state official specified that, based on the agreement of the State Health Safety Council, to go from level 6 to 5, that is, from red to orange in the COVID Health Alert System, various non-essential activities, including the sport fishing, are reactivated with a series of preventive measures that seek mainly to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
García Rodríguez pointed out that this protocol indicates that the service provider must evaluate the risk and / or vulnerable groups to grant the service, while in the case of minors, the departure will be under the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
In the same way, it is established that each sport fisherman must carry with him, or in his case he will be provided with a health kit consisting of mouth covers, glasses, cap, gloves, closed footwear, long-sleeved clothing and antibacterial gel, in addition to his if the latter is not the case, the service provider will provide you with a fully disinfected one.
Likewise, each sport fisherman, before boarding the boat, must sign a responsive letter stating that they know and agree to comply with the provisions of the protocol, which was the result of various technical meetings in which the COEPRIS, the sport fishing sector, Port Authority, the Secretariat of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Agricultural Development (SEPADA) and FONMAR.
