Los Cabos, B. C. S., 23 Nov-. Seeking to promote the economic development of the municipality of Los Cabos, the Tourism Building Commission and Sister Cities had an active participation in the Tianguis Turístico that took place in Mérida, Yucatán. The president of the Commission and XI councilor, Roberto Jiménez; the 1st secretary and 5th councilor, Cristóbal Omar Orbe, and the 2nd secretary and 2nd councilor Irene Galindo Román, participated in various working groups, where they proposed projects to be implemented in the municipality.

Regarding the work during the visit to Mérida, the President of the Commission, Roberto Jiménez, stressed that the visit to the Tianguis Turístico was of the utmost importance, since it allowed us to know the place that the municipality of Los Cabos occupies with respect to tourism: " It is known that 80% of international tourism is concentrated in 6 places: Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, our municipality being the best positioned thanks to all the protocols implemented during the pandemic, as well as for the recovery in the return of tourists ”.

It should be noted that a meeting was also held with the Secretary of Tourism at the federal level, Miguel Torruco, where projects that are on the horizon for our state were presented.

In that sense, the XI councilor emphasized that it is essential that the Government and private initiative continue to work together, especially in the communication of projects that permeate and benefit the rural area, since it is intended that the municipal delegations benefit. Likewise, he recognized the importance of the tourism industries having participation in the organizations that involve the Tourism Building Commission and Sister Cities.

Finally, the I Secretary of the Commission and V Councilor, Cristóbal Omar Orbe, announced that various projects were initiated for the state and for the municipality, -the same that will be made known to the public once they are finalized-, and it was sought to generate agreements with other states of the republic for an exchange and cultural enrichment.

The director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, Rodrigo Esponda, said in an interview for Los Cabos a la Carta and Cabovisión Noticias (from the Tianguis Turístico 2021, Mérida) that various meetings were held on time with business partners who have reported positive numbers and negotiations during the presentation of this important event for the tourism industry.

"We have the participation of 26 companies from Los Cabos that are gathered here among providers of tourist services and hotels, and also a delegation from Baja California Sur, in total there are 36 representatives located, the Los Cabos pavilion has images, motifs ... "said the director of FITURCA about the representation of Los Cabos within this important tourist market that highlights the leadership of the destination as the most resilient and sought after in Mexico after the pandemic.

Regarding air connectivity, Rodrigo Esponda reported that there are new market trends in travel, which have been projected within the presentations, at the same time that three new routes from Canada have been confirmed as of December. Also, he announced that in 2022 a new airline from Europe will operate, which increases expectations regarding a total recovery of the Canadian market and the opening of new routes towards a total recovery of the destination.

Without a doubt, 2021 closes at this Tourist Tianguis with new proposals, new business closings and, above all, greater expectations for Los Cabos to continue being the number one destination in Mexico.

The president of CANIRAC Los Cabos, Michel Zermeño said in an interview for Los Cabos a la Carta and Cabovisión Noticias that the traditional gastronomic festival "Sabor a Cabo Rural" will take place this December 5 from Huerta Los Tamarindos, headed by chef Enrique Silva, president of this event. 

It will be from 12 noon when whole families will be able to meet in this magical passage of San José del Cabo to taste the typical South Californian flavor.

"We know that Sabor a Cabo Rural is the prelude to this great event (Sabor a Cabo) but this year we will not have the great event due to the short time we had after the green traffic light and all this logistics that requires months of planning" said Zermeño Regarding Sabor a Cabo, one of the most anticipated events in Los Cabos.

In addition, he recalled that on this occasion, this event will be held for the benefit of the Heroic Fire Department of Los Cabos, as well as the Red Cross, so great attendance and acceptance from the public is expected.

The cost of the ticket is $ 1000 pesos for adults and $ 500 for children and the points of sale are at Los Tamarindos Restaurant in Downtown San José del Cabo and Los Tres Gallos Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas and San José.

With a message of recognition to the tourism sector of Los Cabos, Mayor Oscar Leggs Castro reiterated his commitment to continue working to maintain the safety, order and cleanliness of the destination, to consolidate Los Cabos as the best place to be visited in Mexico , during the inauguration of the position of the state of Baja California Sur in the Tianguis Turístico Mérida 2021, with the presence of the Secretary of Tourism Miguel Ángel Torruco Marqués.

“From the Baja California Sur stand at the Tianguis Turístico Mérida 2021, with businessmen, representatives of Fiturca, the Los Cabos Hotel Association and the authorities of the State Tourism Secretariat, we are offering what we have as one of the safest and most important destinations in the northwestern part of the country, ”said the mayor.

In addition, President Oscar Leggs Castro recognized the great effort made by the tourism and hotel sector of Los Cabos during the pandemic, when they maintained their workforce as much as possible and that thanks to their work, the economic recovery of Los Cabos is achieved faster than other municipalities in the country.

Likewise, he reiterated that the Administration he presides will work tirelessly to maintain the perception of security, have clean streets and beaches, and maintain order in the tourist areas of Los Cabos so that our visitors have the best stay and help in this way from the actions from the municipal government to the promotion of Los Cabos.
