Mexican Alex Hernández makes history after winning the ATP 250 Los Cabos
Pedro Ardines, sports collaborator of Los Cabos a la Carta reported that after the start of the first official day of the main draw of the ATP 250 this August 1, there have been attractive matches, important surprises and above all the presence of the champion Cameron Norrie and the runner-up Brandon Nakashima of the last edition of the tennis open in 2021.
This Tuesday, August 2, it was experienced with great intensity at the Cabo Sports Complex during the second day of matches of the ATP 250 Los Cabos 2022.
Mexican tennis player Alex Hernández defeated Colombian Nicolás Barrientos in three sets with a result of 6-3, 4-6 and 4-6 in two hours and 18 minutes. This is the reason why the 23-year-old Hernández has made history, since for eleven seasons there has not been a Mexican winner on the ATP circuit.
Pedro Ardines recalled that in the ATP 250 there were five Mexicans from the beginning: Rodrigo Pacheco -who already lost yesterday due to a wrist injury- leaving four Mexicans alive today: Alejandro Hernández in Singles and three Mexicans in doubles: Santiago González, Miguel Ángel Reyes Varela and Hans Hatch Verdugo.
