On the night of this Saturday, November 12, the Closing Ceremony of the eleventh edition of the Los Cabos International Film Festival was held, where, on this occasion, it was the turn of the Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta to receive the Sin Fronteras Award for his tireless fight in favor of the inclusion, diversity and visibility of Latin American talent in the world film industry.

Tenoch was received on stage by the Mexican actor and his great friend Alfonso Dosal, who not only praised his artistic work, but also thanked him for his important work in giving voice to a vital inclusion discourse for our country and the whole world.

The actor also recognized the work of the Los Cabos International Film Festival and that of its directors Maru Garzón and Alejandra Paulín for opening these inclusive spaces, and recalled how his friend Alfonso Dosal saw him fall and rise on more than one occasion, also being the first to understand their fight and join it.

A constant fight to eradicate racism, classism and patriarchy from his movement, Poder Prieto, ensuring that the first step is to recognize that there has always been "a monster under the bed that we were afraid to see, but that it is necessary to remove it the light to expose it and eradicate it from our possibilities”.

Today, says Tenoch Huerta, we have already woken up to realize that these are wrong narratives and we must hope that tomorrow "millions of girls, boys and girls, look in the mirror and realize that there was never anything wrong with their lives." faces, nor on their skins.

“It is time to forgive ourselves and reflect. To start pointing out the monster, dismantle it and start to change, so that the privilege of a few is the right of all, because in this racist, classist and sexist society, we all perpetuate and receive violence regardless of the place of privilege where each one is found," said Huerta.

Emotional words that provoked a standing ovation with which the attendees said goodbye to Tenoch Huerta.
