Commander Juan Carbajal, from the Heroic Cabo San Lucas Fire Department, spoke during an interview for Los Cabos a la Carta and Cabovisión News about the first sport fishing tournament to be held to benefit the Cabo San Lucas community.

The “1st Bulnes Tournament” arose from the interest of Clicerio Mercado, official organizer of sport fishing tournaments: “a proposal comes from him to have a fishing tournament for the benefit of firefighters, a fishing committee for the tournament was formed and The first approach was the name of the tournament… we remember the name of Don Luis Bulnes who was president of the Cabo San Lucas fire department and in honor of all the work he did as well as a defender of sport fishing we proposed that he be called Luis Bulnes” mentioned Juan Carbajal explaining that the tournament bears this name in honor of the Bulnes family that has always supported the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department.

Registration for the tournament will take place this April 15 at the Cabo San Lucas Marina, so far there are 7 registered teams waiting for at least 50 boats competing for the largest catch of horse mackerel and sierra.

The starting shot will be on April 16 at 7 in the morning with a scale closing at 5 in the afternoon.
