Los Cabos, BCS, December 15, 2023.- Los Cabos announces the start of operations of the Las Vegas - Los Cabos route by Alaska Airlines with the arrival of the first flight today at Los Cabos International Airport.

This new seasonal route, available from December 15, 2023 to April 10, 2024, will have four direct weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) on E175 type aircraft with capacity for 80 passengers. This frequency will boost the flow of resident travelers or visitors from the “Entertainment Capital” to the destination, attracted by the robust range of first-class accommodations and experiences that Los Cabos offers, being an important reason to enjoy the warm climate during the season. wintry.

“This new route from Las Vegas represents an important boost to continue encouraging the visit of travelers from the state of Nevada and the West Coast of the United States during the winter season; also allowing us to strengthen air connectivity to Los Cabos and provide more options to regular or potential visitors who wish to visit us. The incorporation of the Las Vegas - Los Cabos route reflects the commitment and effort on the part of the tourism authorities that they have made during 2023 to strengthen the leadership of Los Cabos, as a luxury destination that has an important infrastructure of services and connectivity. air with the main cities of the world.

"Our goal this year is to achieve the arrival of four million visitors, for which, together with local authorities and private initiatives, we have carried out various actions to strengthen the presence of the destination among the main strategic partners and in this way, bring closer the tourist offer of the destination to a greater number of potential travelers,” added Esponda.

It should be noted that during 2023, Los Cabos has seen its air operations increase with the incorporation of new national and international routes as part of its strategy to strengthen the presence of captive markets and encourage the development of new routes with the aim of diversifying the arrival of travelers to the destination and pay attention to new global travel trends.

At the national level, during this period, Los Cabos increased its air connectivity thanks to the airlines:

Long live Aerobus with five new routes, for a total of 11 to the destination. Querétaro with three weekly frequencies, Cancún and Toluca with one daily departure, Ciudad Juárez with two flights a week, in addition to Torreón with two weekly frequencies that will stimulate the transit of travelers from the central, Caribbean and northern areas of the country. Volaris, with the operation of two new flights from Querétaro (four frequencies) and from Mexicali (two departures a week), for a total of nine routes, which also make it one of the main strategic allies for the development of tourism in the region. In the international market:

Iberojet resumed operations, for the second consecutive year, the seasonal flight (April-September) to directly connect the destination with the city of Madrid and bring the destination's luxury offering to just over 4 thousand visitors. Air Canada added Montreal as a new destination, with a weekly flight aboard a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with capacity for 169 passengers. Route that is added to the two winter season routes from Vancouver and Toronto. With the incorporation of these new flights, the destination sees its portfolio strengthened by offering for 2023 and 2024: 16 domestic routes and 41 from abroad (United States (30), Canada (10) and Spain (1) with connection direct to and from Los Cabos; in addition to standing out for having the second best connected airport in Mexico, factors that position it among the main international beach centers, thanks to its important airport connectivity.

It should be noted that according to FITURCA data, the arrival of 601 flights is estimated for December 2023; while the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), during the period January-June 2023, recorded the growth of the rate of national visitors to Los Cabos by 23.4% and the international rate by 12% compared to the same period in 2022, figures that They highlight the evolution and relevance of the destination among travelers and the global industry.
