Jorge Campos Joins Tourism Industry Representatives at Los Cabos Golf Tournament
Jorge Campos, the former Mexican national team soccer player, participated as a special guest for this edition. He played alongside tourism sector representatives as part of a group of 48 players organized into 16 teams.
The event took place at Solmar Golf Links, which was recognized as the Best Golf Course in Latin America for 2025 at the 12th annual World Golf Awards. Designed by Greg Norman, the course is integrated into the region’s landscape, incorporating the surrounding desert and ocean environments.
The location and characteristics of its golf courses have helped Los Cabos develop a sports tourism offering—particularly centered on golf—that attracts both individual travelers who include the sport in their itineraries and groups visiting specifically to participate in tournaments and specialized events.
In this context, Lilzi Orcí, Executive President of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, noted that the Golf Tournament also serves as a networking opportunity for members of the tourism industry. Beyond the competition itself, the event brought together representatives from hotels and tourism-related businesses to strengthen professional relationships and foster new collaborative opportunities.
Following the competition, the results were as follows:
- First place: Hotel Flamboyan — Rigoberto Rodríguez, Ricardo Reyes, and Edgar Castellanos.
- Second place: Hotel Buenavista — Axel Valdez, Marco Núñez, and Rodrigo Gómez.
- Third place: Guest Team — Jorge Campos, Antonio Campos, and Federico Espejo.
For the AHLC, the continuation of this event is part of its initiatives to foster connections among the various stakeholders in Baja California Sur’s tourism industry, while also highlighting an activity that is a key part of the Los Cabos tourism offering.
