Beyond the Screen: A First Look at the FIC Los Cabos 2025 Program

The Los Cabos International Film Festival (FICLosCabos) returns with a program that invites viewers to look beyond the screen. Under the theme #BeyondTheScreen, its thirteenth edition celebrates the union of film, music, digital art, and nature in one of the most iconic settings on the Mexican Pacific coast.
On the east coast of Baja California Sur, where the desert meets the sea, Puerto Los Cabos will become the epicenter of creativity with a program that pays homage to the art of filmmaking as an immersive experience. This year, the festival will recognize the career of production designer and Oscar winner Eugenio Caballero, a collaborator with Guillermo del Toro, Alfonso Cuarón, and J.A. Bayona. Caballero will offer an exclusive Masterclass and will be honored at Crania with an open-air screening overlooking the sea, followed by a celebration at Casa Ballena featuring music by the Ganzo Collective.
The program will also include an Emerging Filmmakers Panel, moderated by David Zonana (Heroico), with the participation of Adolfo Margulis, Gerardo Coello Escalante, and Ximena Lamadrid, who will share their vision on new ways of narrating contemporary Mexican cinema.
Among the most anticipated experiences is “Oceanic Symphony,” a multisensory projection created by Andy Mann (National Geographic) with original music by Garth Stevenson, inspired by whale songs and the underwater landscapes of Baja California Sur.
FICLosCabos 2025 consolidates its role as a meeting point between generations, territories, and disciplines, reaffirming Los Cabos as a destination where art, biodiversity, and innovation converge on the shores of the Sea of Cortez.
