Ben Griffin is excited to return to Los Cabos and will seek victory at the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship

American golfer Ben Griffin expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Los Cabos to compete for the fourth consecutive time in the World Wide Technology Championship, a PGA TOUR tournament being played this week at El Cardonal at Diamante. Griffin, a World Wide Technology ambassador, highlighted the warmth of the destination and the competitive atmosphere of the event, which he considers one of his favorites at the end of the season.
“It’s great to be back in Mexico. Every year more people come, and the hospitality here is incredible. All of us players love competing in this environment,” he said.
Griffin noted that winning this week would have special significance, especially since the defending champion, Austin Eckroat, is also a brand ambassador. “I’m excited for the opportunity. It would be amazing to maintain that winning streak among the tournament ambassadors,” he said.
2025 has been Griffin’s best season on the PGA TOUR, with key appearances that gave him greater flexibility in his schedule, including his Ryder Cup debut, an experience he described as “incredible” and full of camaraderie. He recalled the emotional impact of decisive moments, like a long putt in his duel against Bryson DeChambeau. “There’s nothing like it. You don’t want to miss another Ryder Cup after experiencing something like that.”
Regarding his preparation for this week, Griffin acknowledged that he has had more rest than usual, but assured that his competitive instinct will drive him to fine-tune his game during practice. “Golf is funny; you can feel bad and compete for the trophy, or feel incredible and miss the cut. Anything can happen.”
The player also highlighted what makes Los Cabos a unique destination on the Tour schedule: the combination of high-level competition and a relaxed beachside atmosphere. “It almost feels like a vacation here, but you’re still competing. We don’t have many weeks like this on Tour.”
One of his most cherished memories of the tournament isn’t tied to the result, but rather to the “Par 3 Under the Lights” event, where he plays with celebrities and young people from The First Tee program. “Seeing how golf positively impacts the community here is truly special.”
Before saying goodbye, Griffin acknowledged that while he’s under less pressure this year, he understands that for many players this part of the schedule is crucial to securing their Tour card. “It’s a very stressful week for many; every shot counts.”
Griffin will be looking to end his season on a high note, competing for a victory that would further solidify his place among the PGA TOUR’s elite players.
