Los Cabos Strengthens Alliances and Generates Business at IMEX Frankfurt
The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) participated in IMEX Frankfurt from May 19-21, bringing together a delegation of 12 partner companies from the destination, including DMCs, hotels, experience companies, and representatives from the hotel sector.
The destination's delegation included the DMCs Connect, In Cabo, Native Trails, and Destination Mexico; the hotels Fiesta Americana, Viceroy, Hyatt Ziva, Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and Krystal Grand; as well as the experience companies Cactus and The Main Event. The Los Cabos Hotel Association also participated.
During the trade show, the delegation held 260 business meetings and gave 11 group presentations, reaching 450 international event organizers. As a result of these business activities, 130 requests for proposals (RFPs) and new leads for the destination were generated. Within the framework of the strategic alliances agenda, the collaboration with Condor Airlines stood out. Condor Airlines activated a business class cabin at the Los Cabos booth to promote the air route connecting the destination with Frankfurt (SJD–FRA). Los Cabos also participated as a key partner in the inaugural Maritz Global DMO Exchange, where industry trends and best practices were shared to further strengthen the events industry's presence in the destination.
The delegation also participated in SITE Nite Europe, an event focused on the incentive travel segment, which allowed them to strengthen relationships with clients and business partners in this market. As part of the destination's institutional presence, Los Cabos was represented at the Gaining Edge Think Tank held during IMEX Frankfurt, and also participated as a guest destination at the IMEX Gala. “Los Cabos’ participation in IMEX Frankfurt is part of a strategy focused on expanding the destination’s position in international markets, particularly in Europe. Actions such as promoting the Los Cabos-Frankfurt route and forging alliances with industry partners contribute to strengthening connectivity and attracting events to the destination,” commented Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
FITURCA also participated in the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) educational sessions, strengthening its position within the global meetings and conventions industry. These meetings generated valuable opportunities for networking, exchanging best practices, and staying up-to-date on the trends and challenges shaping the future of the industry.
In terms of sustainability, the Los Cabos stand received the Better Stands Bronze award, a recognition given for practices related to the use of reusable structures and operational efficiency in the design of exhibition spaces. Additionally, the destination carried out an activation in City Beach, in the context of IMEX Frankfurt, with actions focused on strengthening tourism promotion for Los Cabos and air connectivity between San José del Cabo and Frankfurt.
