Authorities from the 15th Administration are participating in the San José Jazz Weekend 2026 Festival, which takes place on May 22 and 23 at Plaza del Pescador in San José del Cabo, starting at 6:00 p.m. The festival brings together prominent local, national, and international talent; a unique space to enjoy music, art, and family time. At the opening ceremony, José María Jarquin Herrera, private secretary to the mayor of Los Cabos, attended on behalf of Mayor Christian Agúndez Gómez. He mentioned that they will always have the support of the 15th Administration: “We hope you have a great time, that this event is a success, and that next year is even better.” The Director General of the Institute of Culture and the Arts (ICA), Tanya Covarrubias Martínez, highlighted the importance of events like this: "The International Jazz Festival is a platform that not only promotes artistic talent but also fosters community and an appreciation for culture. It is a source of pride to see how our community comes together to celebrate music and art, creating bonds that strengthen our identity." For her part, the Director General of Economic Development, Abril Urueta Martínez, expressed her enthusiasm for this event: "The International Jazz Festival not only enriches our cultural offerings but also boosts tourism and economic development in Los Cabos. We are committed to continuing to strengthen the identity of our municipality and projecting it internationally through activities that celebrate music and art," she stated. It is worth noting that events like this are vital because culture transforms; San José Jazz Weekend not only projects our destination internationally but also supports musicians and stimulates the local economy.
