On Saturday March 7th the 3rd Annual Wine & Cheese Festival took place. Hosted by the Hotel Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf and Spa Resort, the event drew more than 500 people, with proceeds going to support the Sarahuaro Foundation.

The setup, the music and the food were great! People enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere, different types of cheese and wine available. More than 32 types of cheese from around the world were tasted with 106 wine labels offered by ten different exhibitors at the event. To accompany the cheese and wine, a bread station was set up with hot appetizers, cold meats, and salads. And dessert stations caused a sensation with goat's milk ice-cream, cheese cake and chocolate with orange and nuts.

The Sarahuaro Foundation was present with a booth, and volunteers of Sarahuaro had a chance to show off and sell some of their arts and crafts to the guests of the event.  

Sarahuaro Foundation has worked hard in the community, creating opportunities through workshops where women, mothers, and children identify their skills and actively integrate them into society. Sarahuaro is currently working with around 160 families. 

By working directly with the community Sarahuaro Foundation has identified the problems affecting their families; this has led the foundation to implement workshops every day at its facilities from 9:30 to 14:00.
