To promote economic growth in Los Cabos, the Tourism and Sister Cities Building Commission was present at the Tianguis Turístico de Mérida, Yucatán
Los Cabos, B. C. S., 23 Nov-. Seeking to promote the economic development of the municipality of Los Cabos, the Tourism Building Commission and Sister Cities had an active participation in the Tianguis Turístico that took place in Mérida, Yucatán. The president of the Commission and XI councilor, Roberto Jiménez; the 1st secretary and 5th councilor, Cristóbal Omar Orbe, and the 2nd secretary and 2nd councilor Irene Galindo Román, participated in various working groups, where they proposed projects to be implemented in the municipality.
Regarding the work during the visit to Mérida, the President of the Commission, Roberto Jiménez, stressed that the visit to the Tianguis Turístico was of the utmost importance, since it allowed us to know the place that the municipality of Los Cabos occupies with respect to tourism: " It is known that 80% of international tourism is concentrated in 6 places: Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, our municipality being the best positioned thanks to all the protocols implemented during the pandemic, as well as for the recovery in the return of tourists ”.
It should be noted that a meeting was also held with the Secretary of Tourism at the federal level, Miguel Torruco, where projects that are on the horizon for our state were presented.
In that sense, the XI councilor emphasized that it is essential that the Government and private initiative continue to work together, especially in the communication of projects that permeate and benefit the rural area, since it is intended that the municipal delegations benefit. Likewise, he recognized the importance of the tourism industries having participation in the organizations that involve the Tourism Building Commission and Sister Cities.
Finally, the I Secretary of the Commission and V Councilor, Cristóbal Omar Orbe, announced that various projects were initiated for the state and for the municipality, -the same that will be made known to the public once they are finalized-, and it was sought to generate agreements with other states of the republic for an exchange and cultural enrichment.
