On the other hand, Mauricio Salicrup clarified that the Congress of Baja California Sur established that 100% of the recovery of the extra 1% that will be charged in tourist tax, 60 percent will be for Los Cabos: "we are concerned because the issue that Los Cabos is seen as the jewel in the crown of Baja California Sur, on many occasions they do not really realize the needs of the municipality, we currently have a municipal presidency that is aware of the social backwardness that exists and we are working with them but in Congress the decision was made to shorten that 40% to the other municipalities," he said, at the same time that he explained, there is awareness that in the other municipalities there is a need for this resource, although the growth it has had Los Cabos implies a higher rate of lag compared to other municipalities.

This increase will be used as of January 1, 2023.
