Los Cabos present at the Madrid International Tourism Fair
Los Cabos presented its extensive portfolio of tourist services for this 2023 at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) with the aim of attracting a greater number of Spanish visitors and arousing their interest to resume their travel plans in the luxury destination of Mexico .
Rosa Maribel Collins, Secretary of Tourism for Baja California Sur, accompanied by Mauricio Pérez Salicrup, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Cabos Hotel Association and Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Tourism Trust (FITURCA), presented at a I meet the news of the destination with the media, emphasizing its cultural and natural diversity, as well as the exceptional quality of all services. For his part, Rodrigo Espondaconfirmed that for this summer the direct Iberojet flight will resume to link Madrid and Los Cabos once a week from June 26 to September. Thanks to this connection, the destination expects to receive 4,000 Spanish tourists.
Greater promotion of the destination
During FITUR, FITURCA will hold more than 40 business meetings with the main tour operators and travel agencies in Spain to reinforce the promotion of the destination in the European market. It is also planned to provide training to nearly 200 travel agents from Ávoris, Lastminute and Excellence by Viajes El Corte Inglés. Similarly, events have been organized for 600 agents from Ávoris and Utópia, a luxury travel agency of the VECI group.
Regarding Meeting tourism, 25 meetings will be held with event planners and they will attend three networking sessions, in addition to making presentations to almost fifty event planners and corporate accounts.
The participation of Baja California Sur in FITUR 2023 consolidates the collaborative work carried out by the industry in the destination, promoted by FITURCA and the Los Cabos Private Tourism Promotion Trust (FIPROTUR), with primary and emerging markets, strengthening the positioning of its attractions and promoting the growth of tourist influx.
In addition to all these actions to promote the destination, Los Cabos will become the first tourist destination outside of Europe to present its case at the XXVII Ibero-American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Entrepreneurs (CIMET 2023) organized by the Nexo Group under the honorary presidency of the King of Spain. The Summit, which this year has been dedicated to MICE and Business Travel, will be held on Tuesday, January 17, on the eve of the Madrid International Tourism Fair.
