Volaris launches two new flights from Mexicali and Querétaro to Los Cabos
Los Cabos expands its air connectivity portfolio by adding two new national routes that will connect direct flights with the city of Querétaro and Mexicali, run by Volaris, a strategic ally that has integrated nine routes to the destination throughout this year. The Los Cabos-Querétaro route began operations on July 10, with four frequencies a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday); for its part, the flight with the city of Mexicali operates from July 13, in the evening with two frequencies (Thursday and Sunday). Both will be carried out on board an A320 type aircraft with an average capacity of 180 passengers, which will encourage the traffic of visitors from two important markets such as the northern area of the Baja California peninsula and the Bajío. “Expanding connectivity, hand in hand with the most important players in the industry such as Volaris, gives us the opportunity to strengthen the image of Los Cabos and our commitment to develop products and services that encourage cooperation and investment ties that benefit the economic and social growth of the destination, as well as getting closer to a greater number of potential travelers,” said Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust. “At Volaris we are very proud of these two new routes that will connect the main tourist destinations in Baja California Sur, with strategic cities such as Mexicali and Querétaro, which in addition to being important poles of economic development, also have a strong passenger market. that is looking for attractive beach destinations for vacations, which will help boost the economic development of the peninsular state”, commented Omar Carrera, Commercial Director of Volaris. It should be noted that in the accumulated from January to May 2023, the destination received a total of 590,000 national tourists, which represents an increase of 24% compared to 2022. With Mexico City as the main issuing market (195,000 visitors ), followed by Guadalajara (87 thousand) and Tijuana (77 thousand); Volaris being one of the airlines with the largest operational presence in Los Cabos. |
