Los Cabos, B.C.S, September 18, 2023.- Los Cabos successfully closes its participation in IBTM Americas 2023, the most important meeting for the international meetings industry, held from September 13 to 14, 2023 in Mexico City, endorsing its position as a leading destination in the industry among the different buyers, organizers and decision makers from 21 countries that They met.

In this edition, the Los Cabos delegation was made up of 11 companies that represented the various service providers of the destination, who carried out 400 business meetings, with the objective of highlighting the exclusive offer of accommodations, services, experiences and infrastructure which make it an attractive point to carry out top quality events. Los Cabos is distinguished by providing the highest level of service for the meetings industry, and thereby boosting the participation of this industry, which currently represents 10% of the room nights that make up the destination and 6.5% of the GDP for the region.

“The meetings industry is a core point to increase economic benefits, so promoting its development, through the implementation of an effective promotion and certification strategy of the value chain allows us to consolidate the positioning of the destination as a benchmark. international. During the event, Los Cabos participated as a sponsor of SITE México and the 3rd Latin American Meeting of DMC's, with the aim of providing greater visibility to the destination among the main players in the meetings industry.

For his part, Rodrigo Esponda participated in the Assembly of the Mexican Council of the Meetings Industry (COMIR) as Secretary, where the 2023-2025 Work Plan was presented to promote the industry; as well as in the panels titled “Scope and opportunities of emerging destinations” and “Sources of financing for DMOs”, carried out under the organization of Meetings Professionals International (MPI) and the Ibero-American Meeting of DMOs.

It should be noted that the 2023 closing projections for the meetings industry estimate a growth of 40% in proposals for meeting programs at the destination, compared to 2019, motivated by the implementation of new air routes that have expanded the connectivity offer. direct to 13 national routes, 28 from the United States, 10 in Canada and 1 in Spain, increasing the arrival of national and international visitors who complement their business stay with the range of wellness, gastronomic, luxury and adventure experiences, among others.
