Los Cabos flies high, the main tourist destination of Baja California Sur is pleased to announce its new air connection with Europe, through a direct flight from Frankfurt, Germany, in strategic alliance with the leading luxury airline in transcontinental flights, Cóndor Flugdienst . It will be from November 2024 when this new air connection with Germany, one of the most relevant emerging markets for Los Cabos, comes into operation.
This milestone was announced from Mexico City in a press conference led by Juan Carlos Cañedo, director of Tourism Training and Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Economy of the government of Baja California Sur, representing the head of this agency, Maribel Collins; Rodrigo Esponda, general director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust; Mauricio Salicrup, president of the Board of Directors of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, and Omar Miranda, Revenue and Marketing Manager of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), representing the CEO, Raúl Revuelta Musalem.
With the launch of the new air route, Los Cabos is consolidated as one of the tourist destinations in Mexico with the best international connectivity, having direct flights with the United States, Canada and Spain. In addition, last year the destination opened 7 new national routes to connect with 16 airports in Mexico, 7 international routes to connect with 30 airports in the United States and 3 routes in Canada to add 11 airports in that country, as well as 12 Mexico flights. Madrid.
The Frankfurt-Los Cabos flight will have two regular weekly frequencies from November to April, with a capacity for 310 passengers per flight. It is estimated that it will move 16,000 visitors a year, which would mean a 490% increase in German tourists, who would leave an economic benefit of 1,000 million dollars annually for the destination, consolidating Germany as the third most important international market for Los Cabos. only after the United States and Canada.
In addition, this new air bridge with Europe will encourage the arrival of more inclusive tourism to the destination, since the Cóndor airline offers class travel packages

Juan Carlos Cañedo, representing the Secretary of Tourism and Economy of Baja California Sur, Maribel Collins, showed the pride of the state government for expanding the connectivity of the destination, since it is the first regular airline that establishes a direct connection with the entity from Germany. “This new airlift opens the door for Germans to enjoy unique experiences that combine nature, gastronomy and culture, all in an environment of safety and quality of service.”
The director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, Rodrigo Esponda, commented that the work to achieve this milestone in the region began in 2019. “Since then, efforts have been made to coordinate logistical and strategic details. Although the Covid-19 pandemic paused the work, it was successfully resumed and today we announce this historic flight not only for Los Cabos, but for the entire state because it will encourage the arrival of more tourists to Baja California Sur,” he stressed.
Esponda stressed that collaboration between the public and private sectors has been decisive in achieving this achievement and will be even more so in the future, to guarantee adequate investments that take Los Cabos on the path to success, as it has been until now. In addition, he pointed out that the collaboration with Condor implies shared responsibilities in the marketing and promotion of the destination to amplify the visibility of Los Cabos among German tourism.
The president of the Board of Directors of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, Mauricio Salicrup, celebrated that the destination “already shines with a healthy hotel occupancy and an unmatched luxury offer, so this new air route does nothing but accentuate and consolidate our attractiveness, and opens the doors to visitors who seek exclusivity and authentic experiences in one of the best destinations in Mexico.”
