The Solmar Hotel celebrates its first 50 years
Don Luis was born in Spain, in Rivadesella, Asturias, however, as he always used to say, when they asked him where he was from, he would say that he was from Cabo San Lucas, but if they asked him where he was born, he would say that in Asturias. The celebration took place precisely in one of the areas near the spectacular rocky area of the hotel where at that time the famous suites were located that were named by Don Luis as Ray Cannon, journalist from the remembered and prestigious sport fishing publication Western Outdoor News ; also the Pancho King suite, pioneer of TV in Baja California Sur, and; Tico Medina, Spanish journalist that Don Luis also appreciated. This great celebration was presided over by CharoBulnes Malo, daughter of the Bulnes couple, who remembered her deceased brother Paco Bulnes(July 2, 2021). CharoBulnes' children, María and Javier and other close relatives were present at this emotional event. Governor Víctor Castro Cosío and his wife also attended, in addition to several personalities and friends of the Bulnes family, the State Secretary of Tourism, Maribel Collins, also attended.. During the gala cocktail-dinner and with the rock formations of the place as a screen, videos and photographs of the beginnings of the hotel were presented as well as images of Don Luis and various historical and nostalgic moments from the beginnings of the Hotel Solmar and which has now been become one of the business groups and creators of impressive tourist developments such as the Grand Solmar hotel, Playa Grande, Racho Cabo San Lucas, among others, as the most important not only in Los Cabos, but in the entire Baja California Sur peninsula. The governor presented CharoBulnes with a commemorative plaque for the first 50 years of life of the Solmar Hotel.
