Los Cabos stood out once again as a leading destination in the tourism industry during Virtuoso Travel Week 2024, held from August 10 to 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event, one of the most important for tourism globally, brought together 5,000 representatives of the main companies in the sector, including hotels, destinations, receptive and tour operators, as well as specialized travel agents.
Los Cabos has 14 hotels within the prestigious Virtuoso network, representing a total of 18,600 high-category rooms. With this, Los Cabos has established itself as a unique benchmark in premium tourism worldwide, since no other destination in the Virtuoso network has such a high concentration of luxury hotels in one place.
“One of the main achievements that we highlight from Los Cabos' participation in this edition of Virtuoso Travel Week was the agreement to carry out a detailed statistical analysis of travelers who visit the destination, in coordination with Virtuoso, with the aim of optimizing the competitiveness of Los Cabos and better adapting to the expectations of the global market,” said Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
The event was also the stage for announcing that Los Cabos has been nominated for the third consecutive year as the best destination management office in the world, a recognition that underlines its leadership in the tourism industry globally.
During Globetrotting, Los Cabos presented its main attractions in 60 group sessions in front of 480 travel advisors, highlighting the unique characteristics of the destination. In addition, the company organized a luncheon attended by 1,200 industry representatives, during which the seven wonders of Los Cabos were presented, strengthening its proposal as a unique destination in the international tourism landscape.
In collaboration with the Virtuoso hotels in Los Cabos, an exclusive cocktail party was held for 100 of the destination's top sellers, which allowed for strengthening key business relationships and exploring new collaboration opportunities. Rodrigo Esponda had a prominent participation in the CEO Briefing, a forum that brought together 40 global leaders in the tourism industry to discuss trends and the future of the sector.
During the week, Los Cabos also managed 64 one-on-one meetings with travel advisors and 20 meetings with specialized media in the premium tourism segment. These interactions were key to consolidating Los Cabos' network of contacts. In addition, a Wellness event was organized for 60 Canadian travel agents and, together with ID Travel, a lunch was held for 15 travel advisors, reinforcing collaboration with strategic partners.
