Local sportfishing team Crudo took first place in the prestigious Bisbee’s Black & Blue tournament by capturing an impressive 634-pound black marlin, marking a milestone in this year’s competition. The feat was achieved after an epic 11-hour battle on the high seas, reflecting not only the skill, but also the commitment and effort of the Cabo fishermen.

The arrival of the Crudo team at the Cabo San Lucas pier turned into a party: hundreds of spectators chanted the name of Captain Sharluko and the team while their 33-foot vessel, Invincible, was escorted by dozens of boats and pangas amid cheers and music. The celebratory scene continued as the large marlin was transported to the weighing station. In an atmosphere full of emotion, the final weight of 634 pounds unleashed euphoria among the crowd.

The victory is not only a source of pride for the Crudo team, but for the entire community of Los Cabos, which celebrates its roots and fishing traditions in one of the most important events in the region. This year, the Bisbee’s Black & Blue tournament brought together more than 170 teams and offered an impressive prize pool of 7 million dollars.

With second place in the competition reaching 561 pounds and third 493 pounds, the Crudo team consolidates itself as an example of the talent and competitive spirit of local fishermen. The awards ceremony will take place on the night of Saturday, October 25, closing this edition of the tournament with a victory that will remain engraved in the memory of Los Cabos.
