Los Cabos will host the Coparmex 2025 National Training Seminar
Los Cabos, the tourist jewel of Baja California Sur, was chosen by the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) as the site of its National Training Seminar for 2025, above other destinations in Mexico.
The candidacy of the South Californian municipality was supported by the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA), chaired by Rodrigo Esponda, which represented a strong push for this destination to obtain the headquarters of one of the most important Coparmex events at the national level.
It should be noted that the COPARMEX chapter in Los Cabos assumed the responsibility of presenting the candidacy for this destination to be selected as the venue for the event, in a collaborative effort between local businessmen.
Among the attributes evaluated by the business organization, the profile and attractions of the destinations were highlighted; the public and private infrastructure, the hotel capacity and the routes and mobility options, as well as the air connectivity with the entire country.
Once the proposals were evaluated, Los Cabos obtained the absolute majority to host the National Training Seminar, an event that will be held in May 2025 and that will bring together more than 250 businessmen affiliated with Coparmex and their companions.
Rodrigo Esponda, head of FITURCA, said that “it is an honor to have been chosen by Coparmex to host its 2025 National Training Seminar. Our vision for Los Cabos is focused on quality, more than quality, that is why we have 95% satisfaction from the tourists who visit us and that is the level of experience that we will offer to those attending this important event.”
The Coparmex National Training Seminar is an event that takes place every year in which businesswomen and businessmen who are part of the organization are invited, as well as national and international external speakers who offer their perspectives on different topics. In addition, the presidents and directors of the business centers meet to agree on new strategies and plans in economic matters. This event usually includes sessions, conferences, workshops, social events and exhibitions.
Los Cabos, a tourist jewel of BCS
Los Cabos, at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, represents an economic engine for the region, based mainly on tourism: 37.6% of the state's Gross Domestic Product corresponds to the tourism sector and it generates 2 out of 3 jobs.
Los Cabos is ranked among the top municipal competitiveness places nationwide, according to the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO). It occupies first place in urban areas with less than 500,000 inhabitants, thanks to its ability to attract talent and strategic investments.
Los Cabos is better positioned in terms of competitiveness than other national tourist destinations. It also has extensive connectivity with Mexico and the world: it has air connections with 16 airports in Mexico, 30 in the United States, 11 in Canada and, next November, 1 in Germany.
The Los Cabos International Airport, located 12.8 kilometers north of San José del Cabo and 37 kilometers from Cabo San Lucas, has more than 550 weekly operations, serving 40 destinations, making it one of the best-connected destinations in Mexico and with international source cities.
At the national level, it has connections with the main cities in the country such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Culiacán, Hermosillo, Tijuana, Toluca, León, Cancún, among others. From the United States, it receives operations, mainly from Los Angeles, Dallas and Phoenix. Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver are the main source cities for visitors.
Los Cabos is:
- 2 hours from San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston and Tijuana.
- 3 hours from Denver, Salt Lake City, Sacramento and San Francisco.
- 4 hours from Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle and Victoria.
- 5 hours from New York, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary.
- 13 hours from Germany.
According to Rodrigo Esponda, last year the destination received 3.8 million visitors, which represented an increase of 9% compared to the previous year and this 2024 is expected to close with the same figures as in 2023.
