Past Champions

Defending champion and World Wide Technology Ambassador Erik van Rooyen will return to Los Cabos to lead a group of players who will compete in the 18th edition of the World Wide Technology Championship from November 4-10 at the El Cardonal Golf Course in Diamante Cabo San Lucas.

Within the field of 120 players, the event will feature the participation of past champions, such as Harris English (2013), Charley Hoffman (2014), Patton Kizzire (2017) and Matt Kuchar (2018). In addition, we will see Camilo Villegas, runner-up of the 2023 edition and winner of a PGA TOUR event just one week after being beaten by Erik van Rooyen on the last hole where he holed a dramatic eagle. Five Mexicans will participate in the tournament by qualifying through different means, led by PGA TOUR member Raúl Pereda. In the framework of events exclusive to Mexican golfers, Santiago de la Fuente secured the first place thanks to his victory in the Mexican Qualifier presented by National Car Rental on October 8. Isidro Benítez earned his place in the field by winning the Mexico Match Play on October 9. Emilio González and Omar Morales obtained sponsor exemptions to compete in the annual PGA TOUR event.

Other World Wide Technology Ambassadors who will join van Rooyen are Keith Mitchell, Ben Griffin, Harry Higgs, Justin Suh, Austin Eckroat and Luke Donald; while Diamante ambassador Taylor Montgomery will also accompany them in the field.

The tournament committee, in collaboration with the PGA TOUR and the PGA of America’s Southern California Section, will hold the Monday Open Qualifier in Los Cabos on November 4 at the Arroyo/Mountain course at Palmilla Golf Club. As is tradition on the PGA TOUR, the last spots in the field will be awarded to the top four players in the Monday Open Qualifier Tournament.

The Monday Open Qualifier, with a field of 72 golfers, is open to all players, professional or amateur, who meet certain handicap requirements. Those who do not have an exemption must participate in one of the pre-qualifying tournaments to be held in Southern California and Los Cabos.

The PGA TOUR is the stage for the best golfers in the world competing on the most iconic golf courses, and as part of the FedExCup, it will bring together a field of 120 players who will compete in 72 holes of stroke play.
