Los Cabos revolutionizes its tourism promotion with a new digital ecosystem
The launch of the update to the "Visit Los Cabos" portal includes technological innovations, accessibility for all and a focus on the quality of visitors.
At a press conference held at the Toro restaurant, Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA), presented the new digital ecosystem of the tourist destination. This platform promises to transform the way potential visitors plan their trips, offering advanced technological tools, greater accessibility and content updated in real time.
"The objective is to ensure that visitors find all the information they need in a clear and proactive manner, thus improving their experience from the planning stage," said Esponda.
Three pillars of innovation
The new portal integrates three key elements:
1 Inclusive accessibility: The site is designed so that people with visual, motor or hearing disabilities can easily use it. According to Esponda, 3% of current visitors to Los Cabos have a disability, a growing segment that will now be able to enjoy a more personalized and accessible experience.
2 Advanced technology: Incorporating tools such as a metaverse, 360-degree views, interactive maps and an artificial intelligence chatbot, the portal seeks to offer an immersive and detailed experience. These innovations allow users from anywhere in the world to virtually explore the destination, facilitating their decision to travel.
3 High-quality images: The platform accurately reflects the beauty and diversity of the destination, with constant updates to photographs and interactive maps to ensure that the information is always up to date.
"The metaverse is a revolutionary tool," said Esponda. "Now, someone in Japan, Germany or Australia will be able to take a two-hour virtual tour and get a clear idea of what Los Cabos offers, bringing us closer to new international markets."
Business collaboration and key data
Currently, the portal includes updated information on 1,200 companies, including hotels, restaurants, tourism activities, event service providers such as weddings and conventions, and more. This collaborative approach ensures that visitors have access to a wide range of options, improving the quality of their experience.
The digital ecosystem also has key metrics that allow measuring user interaction. For example, the average time a visitor spends on the site is more than two minutes, an indicator of their interest and depth in exploring the content.
"The focus is not only on increasing the number of visitors, but on attracting higher quality profiles," explained Esponda. "We want those who visit Los Cabos to find unique experiences, which translates into greater economic benefits and benefits for the local community."
Impact on air connectivity and international tourism
During the event, Esponda also highlighted the advances in international connectivity, thanks to collaborations with airlines such as Condor, which connects Los Cabos with Europe through Frankfurt. This strategy has resulted in a 20% increase in private aviation tourism, a high-spending segment that includes businessmen, artists and celebrities.
Los Cabos' recent participation in FITUR 2025, one of the most important tourism fairs in the world, reaffirmed the intention to attract the European market, especially the Spanish one. "We went from a modest presence nine years ago to a robust pavilion with 15 local companies holding strategic meetings," said Esponda.
Unprecedented accessibility in Latin America
The "Visita Los Cabos" portal is positioned as a leader in digital accessibility in Mexico and Latin America, surpassing destinations such as Hawaii and Las Vegas, which have significantly larger budgets. "The tool ensures that anyone, even with disabilities such as color blindness, can plan and enjoy their trip," emphasized Esponda.
Looking to the future
With a clear vision towards quality over quantity, this digital ecosystem seeks to transform the global perception of Los Cabos, attracting visitors who value the cultural, natural and experiential richness of the destination.
"We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology, constantly updating our tools and expanding our presence internationally," concluded Esponda.
Los Cabos once again demonstrates why it is one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in Mexico, adapting to the demands of the modern traveler and setting a standard for innovation and accessibility in the global tourism industry.
