"The Great Getaway," a national campaign to boost tourism with discounts of up to 50%, was launched in Los Cabos

La Gran Escapada

The president of Concanaco and tourism authorities launched the campaign in Cabo San Lucas; an economic impact of up to 45 billion pesos is expected.

With the presence of Octavio de la Torre, president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Concanaco), and Maribel Collins, Secretary of Tourism of Baja California Sur, the official launch of the "The Great Getaway" campaign was launched in Cabo San Lucas.

The program seeks to position itself as the tourism equivalent of "El Buen Fin," with discounts ranging from 10% to 50% on hotels, airlines, tour operators, and other services in the sector, available at tourist destinations throughout the country.

During the event held at the Hotel Tesoro, the business leader made the first official purchase of the campaign, marking the start of this promotional strategy that already involves nearly 6,000 business owners nationwide.

De la Torre emphasized that the goal is also to motivate people who currently don't consider traveling, mainly due to the high costs of some tourist activities. He noted that the campaign could mark a turning point in the way domestic tourism is promoted, just as "El Buen Fin" transformed retail sales.

Economic Outlook and International Announcement

An economic impact of up to 45 billion pesos is expected, although official figures will be released once the campaign concludes.

Within the framework of the event, and during a meeting with the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV), Octavio de la Torre also announced that Concanaco will officially join UN Tourism, in order to align the sector's actions with the international sustainable development goals.
