The State Committee on Health Safety authorized to go from level 6 to 5 in the Health Alert System from June 15 to 21, with which non-essential economic and sociocultural activities may be reestablished with the timely monitoring of protocols that take care of the health of South Californians. "The intention is to gradually and responsibly move to the new reality of the state and the country, releasing activities that reactivate the economy, but with the lowest possible impact on health," said Governor Carlos Mendoza Davis in a published video. the afternoon-night of this Thursday, June 11.
During this period, the behavior of the pandemic in Baja California Sur will continue to be monitored, in such a way that in the committee session next week, it will be determined whether to continue, or return to level 6.
In the working session in which the Secretary of Health, Víctor George Flores, the representatives of the entire Health sector and of the Armed Forces were present.
This transition to alert level five allows the reactivation of full-service restaurants (including restaurants and drink services in timeshare accommodation), dining services for companies and institutions, restaurants with a la carte or regular food services and self-service stores, real estate agencies, sales agencies of transport vehicles, retail trade of natural products, glassware, china and kitchen utensils, retail trade of furniture, equipment and computer accessories, as well as automotive glass and trucks, hotels, motels, timeshares, and other lodging services, including on-property services, sport fishing, and rental of washing machines and household items.
The reestablishment of activities in this type of companies will have to occur with the full fulfillment of requirements that the State Health Safety Committee itself established for level five of health alert by Covid, such as ensuring that in the areas of attention to the public there is one client for every four square meters and that in recreational and socio-cultural activities the capacity is limited to 30 percent of the capacity of spaces.
In addition, sanitary protocols such as disinfecting commonly used surfaces and providing supplies for hand hygiene, which is decisive for the prevention of infectious diseases, will have to be followed, said the state president, recalling that healthy distance is a measure that came to stay.
The State Health Safety Committee will keep a punctual monitoring of the behavior of the pandemic, to determine if it continues or recedes, hence the importance in which the population applies with responsibility and solidarity the measures established to prevent infections.
In relation to recreational and sociocultural activities, the governor said: “… they may be carried out exclusively in places such as parks and beaches determined and authorized by each municipal authority; in them, the municipality itself will establish the capacity of the place and only 30% of the maximum capacity of people allowed will be located in each of them… ”
