Regarding the number of reservations that have been made by this industry union in Los Cabos, the director of FITURCA mentioned that the meeting industry has different characteristics and has very particular dynamics since they are very different from the value chain tourist, mentioning that there are already some confirmed groups and others that have maintained their reservation during the rest of this year and by 2021.
Rodrigo Esponda explains that the number of attendees per group has been reduced, that is, that large groups have been separated into two or three segments, especially in the case of those who travel with incentives due to the new health regulations.
The director of FITURCA announced that the third edition of the Worlds Meeting Point will be held by the end of August, an event that will bring together 70 organizers of congresses and conventions as well as 70 tourism providers in the country, mentioning that although the new business proposals are for the 2021, this will join the events that will allow the reopening of the meeting industry in Los Cabos.
Regarding hotel occupancy in the destination, Rodrigo Esponda mentioned that it is between 20% and 30%, however, the traveler's profile has changed; This means that the people who have traveled to the destination have been mostly young, with high incomes and with their own businesses, which turns the marketing and advertising strategy designed in relation to this new target, which represents more than 60%. of tourists arriving at the destination.
Hope is placed in Los Cabos, because it has proven to be a safe and trustworthy destination for holding events, meetings and conventions without neglecting the conventional tourism for which Los Cabos will always have its doors open.
