Sustainable tourism generates development and community prosperity
Faced with the effects of the health crisis, sustainable tourism is an alternative for the economic and labor reactivation of the entire country, as well as a tool for development and prosperity for rural communities, said the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES) , Luis Humberto Araiza López.
After witnessing, in his capacity as president of the Union of Secretaries of Mexico (ASETUR), the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR) and the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), represented by Miguel Torruco Marqués and Frédéric Vacheron Oriol, respectively.
This instrument aims to implement actions that promote education, science, culture and communication to encourage sustainable tourism, which allows its benefits to reach more sectors of the population, thus seeking a balanced development of the different regions of Mexico.
Likewise, he stressed that the towns and rural areas of BCS have a great amount of natural, cultural and patrimonial wealth that are of great value for the international tourism market; Therefore, it celebrated the signing of this agreement, since it will pay to improve the quality and conditions of life of Mexican families.
“From the State Government we express our approval with the celebration of this agreement, which will incorporate mechanisms that guarantee the participation of the communities in the chain of benefits generated by tourism; and that, in turn, will contribute to the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage that distinguish our country as a world-class destination ”, concluded Luis Araiza.
