The Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (SETUES), Luis Humberto Araiza López, held a meeting with the Consul General of the United States in Tijuana, Baja California, Sue Saarnio, where they discussed the health measures and protocols that Baja California Sur is implementing , to protect the health of its employees and tourists.

The United States is the main source of visitors to South California destinations, hence the importance of this meeting, as it is essential for the recovery of activity throughout the State. In this sense, the head of the SETUES expressed to the general consul some of the actions that have been developed in BCS to guarantee the hygiene and safety of tourist services and facilities and thus avoid and reduce the risk of contagion by Covid- 19, such as the “Clean Point” certification and the “Travels Safes” quality seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC, for its acronym in English).

He also mentioned that the Los Cabos and La Paz International Airports received accreditation by the Airport International Council (ACI Airport Council International), in the Airport Health Accreditation Program.

He explained that the tourist reactivation of Baja California Sur is taking place in an orderly, serious and responsible manner, under a joint work scheme with service providers and businessmen in the field, as well as chamber organizations
