Mayor Armida Castro shared tourism strategies, promotion and marketing before ASETUR in the city of Tijuana, BC.

Los Cabos, BCS, Nov. 19 - As part of the recognition of the work carried out in a municipality with an organized society and aware of the importance of keeping the main source of employment active: tourism, the municipal president of Los Cabos, Armida Castro Guzmán, presented before the Union of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (Asetur), tourism strategies, promotion and marketing, being a model destination at the national level thanks to the security protocols that have been implemented.

In the company of the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability of the State, Luis Humberto Araiza López, -who concluded his term as president of ASETUR-, the mayor began his participation explaining that during the high season of 2020, it is estimated to have a recovery of 60% of the tourist influx that was had in 2019, translating into the visit of 170 thousand foreign and national tourists.

“Los Cabos, foresees an important hotel recovery for the end of the year. Until the end of October, the destination has registered a 74% recovery in international tourism, and in terms of national tourism, it is at last year's levels, so the destination receives tourists according to the allowed capacity thanks to the security protocols that we have stipulated ”, explained the mayor.

In relation to one of the main attractions of the destination, Castro Guzmán reminded those present of the 22 beaches with the international distinctive "Blue Flag", recognized and valued by millions of people in the world, in addition to highlighting what: Viudas, Santa María, El Chileno, Palmilla and Acapulquito, have the “Platinum Beach” certification that positions them worldwide.

"With the aim of promoting the promotion of tourist destinations that currently opened their doors to the traveler, an alliance called" Tourist Route through Mexico "was created from Los Cabos, a proposal with which we can ensure the economic reactivation of the sector of various renowned tourist poles, adding up to now 8 municipalities in the country ”, emphasized the municipal president.

To conclude, Mayor Armida Castro Guzmán exhibited the “Twinning Signature” strategy created with the goal of reactivating the local economy, taking into account that the affiliation of Sister Cities has fostered mutual understanding, trust, respect and appreciation. between municipalities. Valuing that municipalities share similar appreciations for public art, economy, and festivals, which allows promoting a collaborative exchange of cultural, educational, tourist and business activities.
