Los Cabos closes at 41% occupancy: Lilci Orcí
Lilci Orcí, Executive President of the Los Cabos Hotel Association said in an interview for Los Cabos a la Carta that 2020 was a challenging year for all tourism sectors, especially for the hotel sector, which was one of the most affected, however thanks to the joint work that has been carried out in Los Cabos by the private initiative as well as by the authorities.
She mentioned that the opening plan was successful, with a closing in December with an occupancy of 41% giving a total occupancy result for 2020 of 34%
Lilci Orcí reported that during the pandemic there were no massive layoffs as an attempt was made to retain as many employees as possible and that at the moment the workforce is operating and resuming their work activities.
The average rate in Los Cabos is around 300 USD, this being a strategy proposed in not "badly cheap the destination", managing to establish the rate and recover objectively.
