Shark 1

Considered one of the largest and most powerful sharks in the seas, the bull shark can be admired in the waters of the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, located in the municipality of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, just an hour and a half from San Jose del Cabo.

Julio César Baylón, Diving Instructor: “… contrary to what people think, the diver really looks for the excursion and the expedition to see sharks, it is always the dream of any diver to get to see sharks, bull, hammer, mainly white, but in that area we have the bull shark and it is one of the most attractive activities ... "

Although this species of shark that reaches more than 3 meters and weighs almost 160 kilos, is highly aggressive, but only when it is looking for its food or it is provoked.

Julio César Baylón, Diving Instructor: “… Bull Shark is considered an aggressive and lethal species of course in its way of attacking, what we refer to is when it hunts, what does it hunt? It hunts fish, it does not hunt people ... "

The experience of diving with one or more bulls is indescribable and very exciting

Rodrigo Esponda, Diver-cameraman: “… Bull Shark is a majestic animal, really that its size, its presence, its movement and the way it sees you imposes you, but obviously you have to understand that it is an animal that is in its habitat and as long as you respect him, then, he will respect you ... "

Gerardo Hoth: Diver: "... an unbeatable experience, having lived with that many sharks, I don't know how many there were 8, feeling how they surrounded us, contemplating such an imposing, elegant animal was a unique experience ..."

When you are around them, the recommendation is to stay calm and not move.

Julio César Baylón, Diving Instructor: “… always keeping yourself in a static position, a little stuck to the bottom. Of course, if there is nothing below you ... you can approach and stay simply to appreciate the organism passing in front of you ... "

Here you can see how one of them goes towards the camera.

Gerardo Hoth: Diver: “Suddenly one of us got very close to us, and I didn't know how the animal was going to react, it went head-on against us and suddenly made a slightly violent movement and went to the other side, but outside nothing happened from that ... yes I sweated a little "

In Los Cabos you can also have a close encounter with the Silky shark, in Punta Gorda, near San José del Cabo; and the Maco shark on the outskirts of Cabo San Lucas Bay
