# LosCabos10 also on movie screens!
There is no better place to enjoy a movie than the movie theater. That space where viewers surrender to an immersive experience made up of the darkness and majesty of the big screens.
This year, in addition to presenting its attractive online programming, the Los Cabos International Film Festival returns to theaters with four face-to-face performances starring some of the most acclaimed films of the year:
Audience Award Winner at the Last Toronto Film Festival, Belfast, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Jamie Dornan, Caitríona Balfe and Judi Dench; The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the gripping story of a religious con artist who could lead Jessica Chastain into the arms of the Oscar; Mass, a powerful portrait of two grieving families spearheaded by the brilliant performance of Ann Dowd (a favorite for the upcoming awards season); and the long-awaited return of Sean Baker, one of the Festival's spoiled filmmakers, who surprised specialized critics at the Cannes Film Festival with Red Rocket.
Buddy (Jude Hill) finds himself in the midst of a series of social clashes that dominated the streets of Northern Ireland in the late 1960s. Supported by his grandparents (Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds), his mother (Caitríona Balfe) and his father (Jamie Dornan), who seeks to bring his family to England, the 9-year-old will open up to life and love, without allow your dreams to be interrupted by division in your community. Inspired by his own story, Kenneth Branagh delivers an emotional story where he confirms himself as a great actor director, while capturing, through masterful photography, the feelings of a family that is torn between pursuing a better future or abandoning the place that gave them identity and shelter for generations.
Tammy Faye (Jessica Chastain) seemed to have it all: a loving husband, unwavering faith, the affection of millions of Americans, and one of the world's largest religious empires. However, behind her gaze, the woman hides the weight she carries from the failed relationship with her mother (Cherry Jones), the secrets in her marriage to the evangelist telepreacher Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield) and the lies that they sustained her success. Following her fall from grace, director Michael Showalter presents a gripping character study spearheaded by the powerful performance of Jessica Chastain, who blends in with Faye beyond the endless layers of makeup and costumes that made her famous in the '70s and' 80s.
Gail (Martha Plimpton) and Jay (Jason Isaacs) have been dealing with the grief of their son's death for six years. For their part, Linda (Ann Dowd) and Richard (Reed Birney) have been carrying the brunt of their deceased son's actions for the same time. In an attempt to end their mourning and continue their lives, the quartet of parents meet in a room in their village church. There, a heartbreaking conversation will lead them to catharsis and forgiveness. Guided by the powerful plot and controlled direction of Franz Kranz, the surprising cast of actors - masterfully led by Ann Dowd - falls into a whirlwind of pain, guilt and empathy where reconciliation seems to be a distant goal.
After years of career as a porn actor, Mickey Saber (Simon Rex) returns to the Texas town where he put his life on hold in an attempt to become a Hollywood star. Staying in the house of the wife he abandoned years ago (Bree Elrod), who becomes his only support in the face of the rejection of his neighbors and his precarious financial situation, Mickey will try to get a second chance to achieve fame and success , no matter who you drag on this road. Sean Baker takes up one of the constants in his filmography, the failure of the American dream, in a scathing film that contrasts its luminosity with the desolation that surrounds a protagonist who oscillates between aspirations and narcissism, played to perfection by Simon Rex.
