With more than 60 restaurants participating and the representation of 80 brands of wines, craft beers, as well as Tequilas and Mezcal, Sabor a Cabo celebrated its fourteenth edition at the Campestre golf course in San José del Cabo including the assistance of nearly 3 thousand guests according to preliminary guesstimates.

On this occasion and replacing singer Alejandro Sanz, who due to force majeure canceled on short notice, forcing the organizers to scramble together with the responsible booking agency to find a replacement for the event and so presented Colombian king of reggaeton Maluma, with his musicians and outstanding dancers.   Also on the bill was the charismatic singer/songwriter and unforgettable member of the legendary Spanish group Mecano, Ana Torroja, who performed her best songs highlighting that she is still in great shape.

Both concerts were presented in spectacular form, with great display of production on a formidable stage, equipped with giant screens and extraordinary sound quality that kept the festive atmosphere happening for the three hour show.

Gianmarco Vela, Director of the event, was extremely pleased by the joyful atmosphere and pleasing contribution of the extraordinary gastronomy served, as well as by the vital collaboration of CANIRAC Los Cabos chaired by Gustavo Laborde.

Worth mentioning is the Live Chefs Contest in which renowned chefs Francis Reynard, Jean Georges Vongerichten and Jonatan Gómez Luna participated as jury. Results still to be announced.

Representing the Governor of Baja California Sur was Gabriela Velázquez de Mendoza, President of DIF in the state and wife of the Governor. Also present was Secretary of Tourism Luis H. Araiza, who is also the newly appointed National President of Mexico’s Secretaries of Tourism, among other personalities, tourism business colleagues and foodies.

According to the organizers, proceeds will be distributed to the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department for a fire truck, the local Red Cross for an ambulance and the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation for medical, educational, and humanitarian assistance to children in need throughout Southern Baja.
