World Meetings Forum opens with great success in Los Cabos
World Meeting Forum, the business platform that has brought together suppliers and entrepreneurs from the Meetings Industry worldwide, inaugurated its 2020 edition and in its third year in Los Cabos, this August 31.
The inauguration was carried out by Rafaél Hernández, Charirman of WMF, Jaime Salazar, president of the Mexican Council of the Meetings Industry, Francisco Chachafeiro president Meetings Professional International (MPI Mexico Chapter), Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of the Trust of Tourism of Los Cabos (FITURCA) and the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability of Baja California Sur, Luis H. Araiza López, who mentioned that in Baja California Sur biosecurity measures have been taken with already established international standards, a fact that has allowed to hold events of this type in the region, so he assured that all support will be provided so that the meeting industry will be the tool that leads Mexico on the road to success.
"Los Cabos is a sector that contributes a lot to the economy, 20% of the room nights annually depend directly on the Meetings Industry and this also has benefits not only numerical but also temporality, expenses and other benefits in terms of the productive chain generated by the Meetings Industry that goes far beyond the simple Tourism Industry "said the Director General of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) Rodrigo Esponda regarding the fact that the tourism and meetings sectors have seen certainly affected by the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, although, he mentioned, the reactivation of the Reuinones industry will benefit the destination, and the tourists.
During the following days, new and creative innovation proposals for this sector of the tourism industry will be taken into account, following the strict safety and hygiene guidelines, thus demonstrating that Los Cabos is a clean, disciplined and orderly destination on the way to success in its economic recovery.
